Beer Bread

This recipe is simply amazing. When the bread comes out of the oven, it is perfectly risen and never a failure! You can modify this recipe and add nuts or seeds of your liking. If you have guests coming over in a short notice, this recipe is also a great solution. Not only is your house going to smell divine, but the bread tastes irresistible! I used spelt flour that is better for you, but this will work with white or whole wheat flour too.

The best thing about this recipe that it takes 5 minutes max to prepare, and bakes for 30 minutes in the oven.



1 1/2 cups organic sprouted spelt flour

1 1/2 cups unbleached white flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 bottle of malt beer or regular beer 11.2oz/330ml

1 tablespoon flaxseed

1 tablespoon olive oil 



Heat oven to 375F

In a food processor add spelt flour, baking powder and salt, and pulse twice. Then, add the beer gently, and start pulsing until combined. Take a loaf pan and spray with olive oil. Pour the dough into the pan. Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with flaxseed. Bake for about 30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean. You can modify the topping with your favorite grains such as sesame seeds, sunflower seeds etc.
