Garlic Confit

Garlic is known for its medicinal properties such as helping you fight off the common cold, regulating blood pressure and cholesterol, and boosting your immune system.

Garlic is also known to fight infection in the body.

But, my favorite thing about garlic is that when it is cooked, it becomes so sweet & tasty and adds so much flavor to any dish!

Ingredients:

5 heads of garlic, peeled and separated into cloves

1 small sprig of fresh rosemary, (optional)

1 small sprig of fresh thyme, (optional)

Olive oil, (enough to cover the garlic cloves in the pan)

Directions:

Add the garlic, rosemary, thyme to a small frying pan. Add olive oil to the pan to cover the garlic completely.

Heat stove to low and cook the garlic until soft and golden brown. You will need to flip the cloves to the other side when they start to brown on one side, so that they will be evenly golden brown on both sides.

Let it cool down completely and store in a mason jar in the fridge.

Use it as a spread on a toast, in soups, stews, pasta sauce, salad dressing etc.
